Sama Rice Vada Recipe for Vrat

To give a different taste to the fast, today we are going to make Sama rice vadas.  It is very easy to make them and they are ready in a jiffy.  If you are bored with some fast food, then definitely make this recipe, you will find it very tasty.  So with this easy method, you can also make sama rice vadas and enjoy its taste.

 

Ingredients for Sama Rice Falahari Vada

 

Sama Rice - ½ cup (100 grams)

Curd - ½ cup

Ginger - ½ tsp, grated

Green Chilli - 2, finely chopped

Black Pepper - ¼ tsp, coarsely ground

Rock Salt - ½ tsp

Cumin Seeds - ½ tsp

Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp

Carrot - 2-3 tbsp, grated

Oil for Frying

 

Process of making Dough

 

Wash ½ cup of sama rice thoroughly 3-4 times.  Then put sama rice and ½ cup of curd in the mixer jar and grind them finely.  Put the batter in the pan, add 3-4 cups of water in a mixer jar and mix it and put it in the pan.

 

Mix them well and add ½ tsp of rock salt, 2 finely chopped green chillies, ½ tsp of grated ginger, ¼ tsp of crushed black pepper and ½ tsp of cumin.  Mix them well and burn the flame.

 

Cook it on high flame while stirring continuously.  When it becomes slightly thick, cook the flame on low-medium till it becomes thick, stirring continuously till it comes in the dough from.  After making the dough, turn off the flame and add 2 tbsp of green coriander to it, mix it well and take it out in a plate and cool it.

 

Process of assembling Vada

 

When the dough cools down, mash it and soften it.  Then take oil on your hand and take a little dough and make it round.  Now press it to make it like a peda, then make a hole in the middle and give it the shape of a vada.  Similarly prepare some vadas by assembling them and keep the rest of the dough covered.

 

Process of frying Vade

 

Heat oil in the pan, the oil should be medium-high hot and the flame should also be medium-high.  Put the vadas in hot oil and let them fry for 2 minutes.  Then fry them by turning them till they turn golden brown from both the sides.  Take them out and fry the rest in the same way.

 

Now add 2-3 tbsp of grated carrot to the remaining dough and mix it well.  Then add a little salt and a little finely chopped green chilli to it and mix it well.  Now round them in the same way and make pedas and make vadas.  Then take it out after frying.

 

In this way the vadas for fasting will be ready.  Serve them with green coriander fasting chutney and enjoy their taste.

 

Suggestions

 

Measure the water while making the batter.

While making dough, first cook it on high flame and then when it thickens, cook it on low-medium flame.

The oil should be hot while frying and the flame should also be medium-high.
