Dry Peas No Oil Curry Recipe

Everyone wants to eat healthy food without oil and ghee, but due to taste, everything is not eaten.  But denying this, today we are going to make chickpeas without ghee and oil.  Now because it is made without ghee and oil, then it will be beneficial for health.  Also, due to its taste, you will not feel even for a moment that it is a healthy dish made without ghee and oil.

 

Ingredients for Matar Chole without Oil

 

Dry Peas - 1 cup (200 grams) (washed and soaked in water for 6-7 hours)

Salt - 1 tsp

Baking Soda - ¼ tsp

Coriander Powder - 1.5 tsp

Turmeric Powder - ½ tsp

Cumin Seeds Powder - 1 tsp

Asafoetida - ½ pinch

Tomato - 2 (150 g)

Green Chilli - 2

Ginger - ½ inch

Kashmiri Red Chilli - 1 tsp

Garam Masala - ½ tsp

Coriander Leaves - 1-2 tbsp

 

Process of boiling Dry Peas

 

Put 1 cup of peas, 1.5 cups of water, 1 tsp of salt and ¼ tsp of baking soda in the cooker and boil it till one whistle comes.  After a whistle, reduce the flame to low and cook for 5 minutes.  After completion of time, keep the cooker till the pressure is released.

 

Process of making Dry Peas Curry

 

Put 1.5 tsp of coriander powder, ½ tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of cumin powder and ½ pinch of asafoetida in the pan and fry the spices on low flame until a nice aroma comes.  Now make a paste of 2 tomatoes, ½ inch of ginger and 2 green chilies and add it.  Fry them well on medium flame, also add 1 tsp of kashmiri red chili (this will give a good taste and color to the vegetable).

 

Now fry the masala till it becomes thick, then add ½ tsp of garam masala and 1-2 tbsp of green coriander and mix it well.  The masala will be ready, then add boiled peas to it, mix it well and cook for 3-4 minutes.  When the time is up, the dry peas curry will be ready.  Serve them with roti and rice and enjoy their taste.

 

Suggestions

 

You can increase or decrease the quantity of water according to your preference.
