Soya Chaap Lifafa | Soya Chaap Packet

Soya Chaap packet is a unique recipe of Soya Chaap. The packet filled with such scrumptious stuffing makes it's every bite tastier to eat. 

Ingredients for Soya Chaap packet 

  • Wheat flour - 1 cup (150 grams)
  • Refined flour - 1 cup (125 grams)
  • Soya Chaap - 2 
  • Capsicum (finely chopped) - 1 
  • Tomato (finely chopped) - 1
  • Coriander leaves (finely chopped) - 2 to 3 tbsp 
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Pizza sauce - 1 tbsp 
  • Ginger baton (grated) - 1 inch 
  • Green chilli (finely chopped) - 2 
  • Coriander powder - ½ tsp 
  • Red chilli powder - ½ tsp 
  • Carom seeds - ¼ tsp 
  • Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp 
  • Salt - 1 tsp 

How to make Soya Chaap packet 

Take a cup of wheat flour in a bowl, add a cup of refined flour, a teaspoon of clarified butter to it. Add a ¼ teaspoon of crushed carom seeds, a ½ teaspoon of salt to it and mix them well. Add a ¼ cup water in the intervals to knead the stiffer dough. 

After kneading the dough, cover and keep it aside to set for 20 to 25 minutes. Take 2 Soya Chaap, remove them from their stick and finely chop them. Preheat a pan, melt a teaspoon of clarified butter in it. 

Add the chopped Chaap to it and roast while continuously stirring it on medium to high flame. Add a finely chopped capsicum, finely chopped tomato and roast while stirring them. Add a ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder, a ½ teaspoon of coriander powder, 2 finely chopped green chillies, an inch of the grated ginger baton, a ½ teaspoon of Degi Mirch powder, a tablespoon of pizza sauce to it. 

Add a ½ teaspoon of salt and roast the ingredients for 1 to 2 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons of water to it and cook for 2 minutes on low flame while covering it. After 2 minutes, add some finely chopped green coriander to it and mix well. 

After cooking it, pour it in a separate plate and cool it. After setting the dough, mash it softly for a while. Divide dough into the dough lumps and roll them into the round shaped balls. Press the lumps to give them a shape of Peda.

Coat it with the dry flour and flatten it thinly into the diameter of 10 to 12 inches. After flattening it, spread some clarified butter over it. Place some stuffing on it and spread it into a shape of a square. 

Take a teaspoon of wheat flour in a mini bowl, add some water to it and stir it for a smooth batter. Fold the Chapati from one side and spread some flour batter to it. Fold it from other side and stick to it. 

Preheat a griddle and spread some clarified butter over it. Turn the flame to low and place a packet over it for cooking. Let it cook for 2 to 3 minutes, spread some clarified butter over it and flip it.

Cook from both sides until brown spots appears over them. After a while, hold it vertically and cook its corners. After cooking 4 of its corners, the Soya Chaap packet is ready to be served. Serve it along with coriander dip and tomato sauce. A Soya Chaap packet is enough to end the hunger spank of one time. 


You can use oil instead of clarified butter. 

You can use a ½ teaspoon of ginger paste instead of grated ginger. 

You can increase or decrease the quantity of stuffing according to your taste.
