Ingredients for Jau Dalia Pulao

Barley Broken Wheat - 1/2 Cup (90 grams)
Desi Ghee - 1 tbsp
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Peas - 1/2 Cup
Carrot - 1/4 Cup, chopped
Cauliflower - 1/4 Cup, chopped
Capsicum - 1/4 Cup, chopped
Ginger - 1 tsp, grated
Green Chilli - 1, finely chopped
Tomato - 1, chopped
Salt - 1/2 tsp

Jau Dalia Pulao Recipe

To prepare Jau Dalia pulao, we will dry roast 1/2 cup of Jau Daliya over medium flame. Roast Jau (Barley) till its color changes and becomes fragrant. Once roasted, take the dalia out in a bowl.

Note: Barley takes only 4 minutes to get well roasted.

Add 1 tbsp of ghee to the cooker. When the ghee melts, add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds and roast briefly.

Now, add 1/2 cup of peas, 1/4 cup of chopped carrots, 1/4 cup of chopped cauliflower, 1/4 cup of chopped capsicum, 1 tsp of grated ginger, 1-finely chopped green chili to the cooker and saute them lightly.

Add roasted Jau Dalia to the veggies and saute for 1/2 more minutes. Add 1-chopped tomato after roasting Jau as we don't want it to be mushy.

Pour 1.5 cups of water into the cooker. Water will be thrice the quantity of Dalia. Add 1/2 tsp of salt or as per your taste and mix well. Close the cooker lid and pressure cook the dalia for a whistle.

After a whistle, switch off the heat and wait for the cooker's pressure to clear. Once the pressure settles, leave the pulao partially covered for 10 minutes.

Jau Dalia Pulao is ready to be served. It turned out delicious and yummy. Serve it as breakfast, lunch, or dinner; everyone will love it!
